The first step to getting started with us is to fill in a profile form. From there we can arrange an Initial Assessment for Training and Behavioural Consultations or a Meet and Greet for one of our other services.

"Meet and Greets" and "Initial Assessments" are carried out at Follow My Lead Coningsby (map below) unless specifically arranged otherwise.

Meet and Greet

The meet and greet is about generally getting to know you and your dog/s. Depending on the reason you have come to Follow My Lead the process may be slightly different, but here is a good idea of what to expect:

Each meet and greet usually lasts 30 minutes, although we allow longer so we never have to rush. At the start of the meet and greet we will discuss the profile form which will have been completed and sent to us in advance. (If you have any trouble completing the form you are more than welcome to give us a call and we can then fill it in over the phone or arrange for a paper version to be collected). Here we can confirm any details to keep your pet safe and happy while being cared for with us.

After this we will include (if appropriate for your dog) a calm and gentle dog introduction - for example, if would like your dog to come on group walks. I would join you with one of my dogs (on the other side of the road) and then we will move nearer to each other to see how your dog/s reacts to a stranger in the “real world”. We can then progress to letting them say hello in the garden if they would like.

A meet and greet is £5 when carried out at Follow My Lead. If you would prefer for us to meet somewhere else (for example your home) this can be specifically arranged. There would be an additional small travel fee if you live outside of the Coningsby/Tattershall area.

Initial Assessment

Unlike a meet and greet an initial assessment typically takes up to an hour.

During this Initial Assessment we would discuss in detail the contents of the profile form you will have filled in and also your dogs history. This will give you a chance to tell me how you see your dog and what your ideal scenario would be in the future. We will be able to assess your dogs current behaviour (in as stress-free a way as possible) so that we have a starting point to create a tailor-made training plan from.

You will be given some management and training techniques to help to set you and your dog up for success.

An initial assessment is usually held at Follow My Lead Coningsby, however it can be specifically arranged at a different location (for an additional small travel fee if you live outside of the Coningsby/Tattershall area).

A training initial assessment is £40. Please contact us for a quote for a behavioural initial assessment dependent on your dogs individual needs.
